Cylinder lawnmowers are more complex than rotary mowers and therefore more expensive. The key part of any mower is the blade (cylinder) and it is essential that this is kept sharp, so our service always includes a sharpen. This usually takes the form of a 'cylinder grind' requiring the cylinder and bottom bar to be removed from the machine and ground on specialist equipment.
The 'cassette' types are easier to dismantle than the traditional type and therefore a little cheaper. The width of the cylinder also has a bearing on the service costs.
In addition to the sharpening, the engine will be fully serviced, the roller drive system inspected and lubricated, and all controls adjusted and oiled.
