If you want to cut your lawn in the quickest time without collecting grass then you could consider a mulching mower. These Lawnmowers, sometimes called 'recycling' or 'multiclip' mowers have no facility for grass collection and feature a symetrical deck design and a blade which lifts the grass at the periphery and drops it down at the centre, thereby recirculating it within the deck and chopping it many times until the clippings are small enough to drop into the stubble beneath the mower.
Provided that the mower is not presented with too much grass, the resulting finish will be as good as a collector lawnmower, but without the need to stop and empty the grass box, the lawn will be cut much quicker. The lawn is usually left clean and tidy, but if the grass is a little too long or too wet, or if the machine is set too low or used too fast there may be a little debris left on the surface. Do consider a mulching mower if:-
- You cut at least once a week throughout the season.
- You do not want to cart clippings to the compost or to the local dump
- You are not worried if the occasional clipping gets carried indoors on your shoes if cut in adverse conditions.
We sell mulching mowers from John Deere and AL-KO (alko)
Do not consider a mulching mower if:-
- You cut on an irregular or infrequent basis
- Cut long grass
- You are adamant that no clippings should ever get walked away from the lawn.
