Back to Ride On MowersThe Stiga Tornado 2108HW lawn tractor is a sturdy compact tractor with a large 108cm deck, offering the perfect solution for those who do not wish to collect grass clippings. In long grass, with the side discharge chute in place the grass is neatly cut and spread and can be left to wilt naturally. For areas that are being mown on a more often the multiclip (mulch) function cuts and re-cuts the grass into small particles that disappear into growing grass returning valuable nutrients to the soil.
Mulching is a great feature and saves so much time that cutting the lawn can be more than 30% quicker as there is no need to stop to empty clippings. This also results in a good fuel saving. You may well ask “Will I see the mulched grass?” and the answer is “No!” Mulched clippings are blown down into the stems of growing grass and are not noticeable, provided the grass is cut regularly and not on the lowest setting.
The twin cylinder Stiga ST550 586cc 10.8kw engine powers the Tornado via hydrostatic transmission. The foot control enables seamless changes between forward and reverse drive, make it a highly manoeuvrable machine. It is fitted with a 108cm/42" double bladed cutter deck engaged via an electric clutch, easy to operate side discharge or mulch options and a tow bar. This model has a 3 year manufacturer's warranty and with 7 heights of cut, from 25-80mm is suitable for lawns or paddocks. Recommended for lawns of up to 2.5 acres.
The engine of this machine requires SAE10w30 oil. The engine will be filled prior to delivery, but subsequent oil changes will require 1.5 litres of oil. We suggest that a first oil change is carried out at roughly 10 hours use, then on an annual basis.
We would also suggest that an annual service is carried out.

The engine is designed to run on standard unleaded fuel, but please be aware that this fuel will go stale very quickly so it is best to use fuel that is less than 60 days old or engine problems can occur.
We recommend the use of ASPEN 4 fuel as it will last indefinitely without going stale, so peak performance and starting is always guaranteed. ASPEN 4 is however more expensive than standard petrol and can be purchased in sealed 5 litre cans from ourselves at the Colaton Raleigh shop.
